In this age of wireless communication, there is hardly any Indian who is not subscribing or has ever subscribed to an Airtel service. Bharti Airtel had nearly 287 million customers across its operations at the end of December 2013.

Bharti Airtel added 510,000 subscribers to take its base to 209.7 million at the end of July 2014. Its market share in India is the highest at 28.41 per cent. Its network-base stations, microwave links etc. are maintained by Ericsson and Nokia Siemens Network whereas IT support is provided by IBM and transmission towers are maintained by Bharti Infratel Ltd in India.
