Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology

Galgotias College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) is a part of the Galgotias Educational Institutions promoted by the Smt. Shakuntala Educational and Welfare Society. GCET offers courses in engineering and technology approved by AICTE, the apex body for technical education in India and is affiliated to the Gautam Buddh Technical University, Lucknow. Since its inception in 2000, GCET has been ranked amongst the top institutions in India for engineering and management education.

GCET is located next to an eight-lane expressway linking Delhi with Greater Noida, the new education cum residential mega-city currently under development. The sprawling 19-acre integrated campus of the Galgotias Educational Institutions houses GCET along with the other group colleges.

At present, GCET offers undergradu-ate degree programmes in civil engineering, computer science & engineering, electronics & communication engineering, electrical engineering, electrical & electronics engineering, Information Technology, mechanical engineering, electronics & instrumentation engineering and instrumentation & control engineering. Graduate students are offered admission in different M.Tech. and MBA degree courses on campus.

The academic rigour at the institute is complemented by various extra-curricular opportunities for the students. Different student clubs and bodies operate round the year, adding colour and vibrancy to the campus. The more popular clubs among these are TechClub, AeroModelling Club, Chauraha – the dramatics club, CamCircle – the photography club and Cricket Club.

The campus infrastructure at Galgotias is simply world-class.  It houses a 1,000-seater computer lab with the latest engineering softwares and applications. The institute has established its own Radio Microwave Link facility with a high speed of 2 Mbps via radio-frequency link, providing every student on campus access to the Internet. The central library on campus is well stocked with over 6,000 titles and over 130 journals. It also provides students access to various e-journals and databases through online search and indexing facilities.

Students graduating out of GCET are provided placement assistances in different organisations within India and abroad. Most of the companies visiting GCET are tech companies of varying sizes including multinational giants and start-ups. Students are put through rigorous corporate readiness programmes which run concurrent to their academic programmes, which include industry visits, mentorship activities, field research works, corporate interfaces and faculty-monitored corporate internship programmes.
