International College of Fashion

With curriculum developed by IIT (Delhi), the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) and NID (Ahmedabad), International College of Fashion (ICF) brings a wide range of experience in designing courses on buying, marketing, advertising, law, visual merchandising, management, product development, and manufacturing for its students.

The college was founded by K.K. Bajaj, chairman of Bajaj Capital Limited, an investment advisory and financial planning company. It offers various full time courses in fashion entrepreneurship both at the bachelors (BBA) and masters (MBA) level. It also offers a post-graduate diploma in fashion entrepreneurship which is affiliated to the University of Mysore and the Karnataka State Open University (KSoU). The last academic year in both BBA and MBA courses, is devoted to learning-on-the-job training. Thus, at the end of the course, the student not only gets a degree but also a year’s work experience.

ICF also has a set of distance learning courses offering an MBA in entrepreneurship (fashion) with PGDFE, a PGDFE and a diploma in fashion entrepreneurship.

“Fashion is a very serious business and one that is becoming increasingly competitive. ICF will give you the edge you need to set yourself apart from the crowd. Fashion is an exciting and a challenging field where opportunities abound for those individuals with a solid foundation,” Prof. Gulbash Duggal, Associate Dean of ICF, says.

In order to enrol in ICF, the candidates must register for a Common Entrance Test (CET) which is evaluated by a team of professionals and psychologists. Only when a candidate scores more than 80 per cent, will he or she be called for an interview. Once the scores are calculated for both rounds, the team of experts rate them and decide on the list of successful candidates.

The total intake of the college is around 60 students each academic year. There are six full-time faculty members and seven visiting faculty members, three PhD holders among them. Apart from this, a number of professionals representing different sectors of the fashion industry are invited to deliver guest lectures. The institute has a student-teacher ratio of 10:1.
