Nasr School, Hyderabad, managed by Nasr Education Society, is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination. Begum Anees Khan, a member of the royal family of Surat, started the school in 1965 with an aim to promote quality all-round education for the girl child in a secure and comfortable environment.
In 1998, Nasr Boys School was started to improve the quality of education for boys. Nasr provides an ideal education to prepare students for the 21st century. The school, which had just 12 students and three staff members in its founding year, has grown rapidly over the past years with 5,000 students and modern campuses with unmatched facilities.
The school offers a strong academic programme, an exceptional faculty, a kaleidoscope of co-curricular activities and community involvement programmes. The teachers prepare the students for a new century, characterised by rapid and constant changes. The students are equipped to play an active role in the international world where people and cultures surpass national boundaries. Nasr is a perfect blend of the modern and traditional values. Nasr works closely with parents to imbibe in its students an appreciation for religion, culture and tries to build a strong character. The school became the first in the state to initiate various international exchange programmes.
Notable alumni of the school include Sania Mirza, the Indian tennis ace; Dia Mirza, actor, model and former Miss Asia Pacific International; Pinky Reddy, former chairperson of the Hyderabad Chapter of FICCI Ladies Organisation; and Tejdeep Kaur Menon, Senior IPS officer, among many others.
