kit-kat-250x201THE URGE TO MUNCH

Remember the days when you couldn’t control the incessant urge to munch those crispy chocolate-laden wafers one after another! KitKat’s association with the present generation dates back to the school days in the late 1980s and the early 1990s when it first entered their lives as an all time snack. Kitkat is a chocolate-covered wafer biscuit bar that was created by Rowntree’s of England and is now produced globally by Nestlé (which acquired Rowntree in 1988). Each bar consists of fingers composed of three layers of wafer covered by chocolate. Each finger can be snapped from the bar separately.
The origins of the brand KitKat go back to 1911 when Rowntree’s, a confectionery company based in the United Kingdom, trademarked the terms “KitCat” and “KitKat”.
Following on from its success in the United Kingdom, KitKat was exported to Canada, South Africa, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
