ABES Engineering College (ABESEC) is a private engineering college affiliated to the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) and is promoted by the Society of Educational Excellence. Founded in 2000, the institute is located in a prime industrial neighbourhood, around 11 kms from Delhi.
ABESEC offers both under-graduate and post-graduate programmes. Students at the under-graduate level are offered enrolment in the four-year full-time Bachelor of Technology courses with specialisations in computer science and engineering, Information Technology, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and mechanical engineering. At the masters level, full-time M.Tech. courses are offered in computer science & engineering and electronics & communication engineering. The institute also enrols students in MBA and MCA programmes offered by UPTU.
Students seeking admission in the under-graduate courses need to clear the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examinations (UPSEE). Alternatively, one may seek admission on clearing the All India Engineering Entrance Examinations (AIEEE).
Within a short time since its inception, the institute has reached various key milestones in academics. It has been recognised as one of the fastest growing private technology institutes in India and among the best in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Under the able leadership of Neeraj Goel, general secretary of the institute’s Executive Council, ABESEC has experimented with new pedagogic styles, introduced new campus infrastructure and has built a strong industry-academic interface.
The ABESEC campus houses 70 state-of-the-art lecture theatres, several seminar halls and conference rooms equipped with the latest audio-visual systems and one 500-seater central auditorium. To promote active participation of its students in various sporting activities, the campus houses a stadium along with facilities for lawn tennis, table tennis, basketball, badminton, snooker, apart from a fully-equipped gymnasium.
The central library of the college has a rich collection of over 70,000 books, 200 journals and more than 300 electronic databases. The departmental labs are all equipped with latest equipment and are upgraded regularly with grants from the industry and central & state bodies.
ABESEC has been a part of an initiative by NASSCOM, a trade association of Indian IT and BPO industry. Through this initiative, the institute has partnered with leading companies like Cadence Design System to undertake live student projects under the guidance of faculty members and Cadence scientists. An automation lab has also been set up in association with Rockwell Automation, US to ensure availability of platform for undertaking innovative automation projects. The institute also established an IBM Centre of Excellence in collaboration with IBM India Ltd, a Microsoft IT Academy and SAP uAcademy, among other innovative initiatives to promote advanced learning and research.
ABESEC, through an on-campus Entrepreneurship Development Cell, promotes entrepreneurial initiatives among its students. It is also a member of the National Entrepreneurship Network and has tie-ups with MSME Development Institute.
Leading Indian and MNC tech-firms visit the ABESEC campus regularly for recruitment. The ABESEC alumni association helps in the placement process and also contributes to the institute’s growth and development in various ways.
