Neelkanth Group of Institutions was established in 2008 by the Shri Shiv Venkateshwara Educational and Social Welfare Trust with the express aim to produce engineers, managers and entrepreneurs who can meet the growing needs of the expanding Indian economy. The campus is spread over an area of 65 acres in Meerut in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The group, lead by the visionary Mr. Brijveer Singh, runs a number of institutes providing professional education in diverse fields – Neelkanth Institute of Technology (NIT), Neelkanth College of Engineering (NCE), Neelkanth Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET), Neelkanth Vidyapeeth (NVP) and Industrial Training Institute (ITI).
NIT offers a four-year full time Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme in computer science & engineering, Information Technology, electronics & communication engineering, electrical & electronics engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering.
The admission to these courses is based on an entrance test, UPSEE, conducted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. NIET & NCE offer three-year diploma programmes in all major areas of engineering.
The ITI offers skills development programmes in plumbing, electricals, draughtsmanship (civil & mechanical), welding etc. These courses are accredited by Quality Council of India and affiliated to Directorate General Employment & Training.
The learning process at Neelkanth is aided by ICT-enabled classrooms. One of its main features is automatic recording and distribution of lectures. The lectures are recorded in two modes- normal and board close-up views. Another prominent feature of its ICT solutions is the Daily Evaluation and Feedback Technique (DEFT), which helps in daily assessment of students by means of an on-the-spot classroom test.
A qualified faculty, with 68 doctoral degree holders, ensures that students at Neelkanth are in good hands. Students are groomed in various areas of personality development to make them confident and ready for professional challenges. The placement cell strives to maintain a healthy industry-institute partnership and acts as a bridge between the academic and the professional world.
For providing adequate international exposure, the group has a tie-up with Herzing University, USA for student and faculty exchange programmes.
