Zee Institute of Creative Art has been training students to become quality professionals In the field of animation and designing for the past 17 years. The institute was founded in 1995 by ZEE Learn Limited, a part of the Essel Group. Zee Learn is one of the fastest growing education companies in India with a chain of K-12 schools and pre-schools. The institute is supported by Zee Network, which is one of India’s largest television, media and entertainment companies with viewership in 168 countries.
ZICA offers three degree programmes – bachelors of science in animation & visual effects, animation film making and visual effects film making – in association with Himgiri Zee University, Dehradun. The selection procedure is based on an entrance test followed by a personal interview which is conducted by the university or an agency that has been authorised by the university to hold the examination on its behalf. The institute also runs various diploma and certificate programmes in the areas of web designing, visual effects, film making and animation film making.
The faculty is selected through a centralised selection process before being inducted into the system. It has more than 25 centres in all major cities across India. The institute keeps pace with the rapidly evolving world of animation and design. The training studio is equipped with high-end animation tools, 2D animation facilities, 3D software, visual FX labs and imaging technologies.
Students at ZICA have a number of extra-curricular activities which supplement the education received by them. It includes clay modelling, clay animation, stop motion, photography, quick sketching, and face painting among others. The alumni network at ZICA has grown over the years since its inception. The institute is planning to expand to South Africa and different parts of Asia.
