Adamas Knowledge City, promoted by the Kolkatabased Rice Group, is a fully integrated education township consisting of different institutes offering education from the pre-school to higher studies levels. The 100-acre township has a 13.5 acre institutional zone which houses institutes for engineering, management, medicine and other career-oriented courses, apart from kindergarten, high schools and an upcoming university. Once completed, the institutional zone will be able to support a 20,000-strong, crossdisciplinary student community, providing every possible level of education within a single campus.
The various institutes currently functional include Adamas World School (AWS), Adamas International School (AIS), Adamas Higher Secondary Model School (AHS), Adamas Institute of Teacher Education (B.Ed. College) and Adamas Institute of Technology (AIT). Within the next few years, the campus will also have a law college, a school of nursing, an ayurvedic college, a business school, an institute of hotel management, a medical college, a dental college and a finishing school among other institutes, making it one of the largest integrated campuses in India. AWS has applied for CBSE affiliation after receiving the NOC from state government, AIS is affiliated to Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations while AHS is affiliated to the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
The University has been established with the vision of providing quality education to students to help them become professionally competent as well as academically knowledgeable. It is expected to act as a centre of excellence, drawing students from both India and abroad.
