Ashirvad Pipes Pvt. Ltd is the pioneer and the largest manufacturer and exporter of UPVC column and riser pipes used in submersible pumps in borewells. Ashirvad column pipes are exported to more than 30 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australasia and North and South America, with a track record of more than 2.5 million successful installations across the globe.
Ashirvad Pipes was started from a small office comprising 50 employees and manufacturing facilities spread across one acre. Promoted by Poddar family, today Ashirvad Pipes is spread over 40 acres of land in Bangalore and manufactures over 100,000 tonne of pipes per annum.
It employs over 2500 skilled and semi-skilled workers apart from more than 100 people in its corporate office in Bangalore and around 200 field sales personnel across the country. Having 12 warehouses in India, the company has an excellent distribution network catering to about 1,600 distributors and more than 16,000 dealers across the country. The company holds about 30 per cent of the market share for column pipes as well as CPVC pipes and fittings.
Thickness control in column pipes and alignment system in CPVC pipes and fittings are some of the key innovations made by the company in the last five years. The company has achieved several national and international standards including ISO, CFTRI, BIS and CIPET for its manufacturing facilities. In 2004, Ashirvad became a licensee of Lubrizol, a Berkshire Hathaway company based in the United States and owned by Warren Buffet, for manufacturing CPVC pipes and fittings for hot and cold water applications. Ashirvad became one of their fastest growing licensees in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. In 2007, the company was awarded the Prime Minister’s Trophy for ‘Outstanding Entrepreneurship in Medium Enterprise’. In March 2013, Ashirvad Pipes entered into a joint venture with Aliaxis S.A. of Belgium, a leading global manufacturer and distributor of plastic fluid handling systems.
Ashirvad achieved a turnover of Rs13 billion in 2014 and the projected turnover for 2017-18 is Rs 30 billion. It envisions to become the largest manufacturer of the complete range of plumbing, sanitary and drainage products in India.
