JK Tyre & Industries Ltd has many firsts to its credit in the industry. This includes pioneering radial technology in India way back in 1977. It is the first Indian tyre manufacturer to make radial tyres for an entire range of vehicles such as trucks/ buses, LCVs, passenger cars, MUVs and tractors, etc.

With more than three million truck and bus radial tyres on Indian roads, JK Tyre is India’s number one radial tyres manufacturer. In October 2013, JK Tyre became first Indian tyre company to sell over five million truck/bus radial tyres in India. Also, JK Tyre’s campaign ‘Made for India and Made for You’ is built around the advantage of using JK truck and bus radial tyres.
ENGAGEMENT THAT ENTHRALS
Riding high on the back of mergers and acquisitions, JK Tyre has achieved tremendous growth. In 2008, JK Tyre acquired 100 per cent equity shares and management of Tomel, a well established tyre company in Mexico. Earlier in 1997, it acquired Vikrant Tyres, a government of Karnataka undertaking.

JK Tyre is a green citizen and all its plants are ISO 14001-certified for environmental conservation. It has taken many green initiatives and launched the ‘Soles with Souls’ programme, an eco-friendly initiative to use discarded tyres as a lifestyle accessory, which has been acclaimed internationally. JK Tyre’s Mysore plant is a recipient of the ‘Golden Peacock Environment Award’.
