It keeps the fire burning in millions of Indian kitchens. HP Gas, a product of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), was introduced in 1955. Today it has over 33 million domestic LPG customers who are catered through a network of over 2630 distributors across the country. A mixture of propane/butane liquefied under normal ambient
temperature and moderate pressures, HP Gas is a safe, clean burning, reliable and high calorific value fuel.

BLAZE TO BRILLIANCE
Bottled at 44 LPG bottling plants throughout the country with a total capacity of over 3610 thousand metric tonnes per annum (TMTPA), HP Gas reaches the consumers after thorough checking at every stage right from the bottling to distribution. In addition to its use as a domestic fuel, it is also widely used in industries, where there is a requirement of low sulphur content fuel and fine temperature controls. HP Gas conforms to IS: 4576-1999 specifications.
FAITH FACTOR
HPCL had an income of Rs 2321.9 billion through sales during FY 2013-14, having about 20 per cent market share in India among PSUs. It also owns and operates the largest lube refinery in India producing lube base oils of international standards, with a capacity of 335 TMT. This lube refinery accounts for over 40 per cent of India’s total lube base oil production. Presently, HPCL produces over 300 grades of lubes, specialties and greases.

In addition to domestic LPG, HP Gas also markets LPG cylinders for commercial and industrial purposes and bulk LPG by tankers for industries. HPCL has bagged the National Award for Excellence in Cost Management-2013 under the category of “Public Manufacturing: Organisation (Large)” from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI).
BRAND EQUITY
The plants and import facilities of HP Gas are ISO 9001:2000 certified. HPCL was featured on the Forbes Global 2000 list for 2013 at position 1217. It is the 10th most valuable brand in India according to an annual survey conducted by Brand Finance and The Economic Times in 2010.
