Unmistakable design elements make the BMW 3 Series the sportiest member in its vehicle class. With a contemporary interpretation of the classic three-box design, the vehicle upholds the design tradition of the BMW brand: long bonnet, short overhangs, long wheelbase and set-back passenger compartment. In this way, the best-selling BMW Series of all time continues to lead the way within its segment.
 RESOLUTE AND RESONANCE
The 3 Series is BMW’s best-selling model, accounting for around 30% of the BMW brand’s annual total sales (excluding motorbikes). The BMW 3 Series has won numerous awards throughout its history.
The automatic 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission adapts to suit individual driving styles. It is perfect for everything from comfortable cruising through to a very dynamic drive. In addition to automatic gear selection, it is of course possible to shift gears manually at any time – optionally with the assistance of the Optimum Shift Indicator. The driver can change gears using the shortened gear lever or the gearshift paddles on the Sport leather steering wheel.
In SPORT mode, the gear shifts are configured for the best possible performance. Fast engine speed transitions between the gears bolster powerful acceleration. The engine always maintains a speed at which it can access very high power output at any time.

TRAILBLAZING
The Apps equipment feature is a platform enabling convenient use of selected smartphone apps in BMW vehicles. To make a variety of apps available for their customers, BMW not only develops its own apps, such as BMW ConnectedDrive app and the BMW M Laptimer, but also works closely with partners like TuneIn, Glympse, and Stitcher Radio and the GoPro App, so that those apps can also be used safely inside the car. Simply attach a compatible smartphone to the vehicle with the snap-in adapter if one is available, or a USB cable. All of the app’s functions can then be conveniently operated via the iDrive Controller. The selection of apps available for use in the car is constantly expanding thanks to close partnerships between BMW and a variety of different suppliers

Highly robust, large-volume supporting structures and the intelligent use of specialized high-strength steel ensure maximum rigidity in the safety passenger cell, while keeping the overall weight to a minimum.
The impact of a collision is channelled away from the passenger cell to other parts of the car body, such as the undercarriage, side frames, front bulkhead and roof, where it is absorbed by deformation zones at the front and rear. <
