Voltas, a leading manufacturer of air conditioners in India, markets a series of split air conditioners, rated three and five star in energy efficiency and conservation. Voltas hot and cold split AC is the latest addition which has been successfully marketed as an all-weather air conditioner. The new AC claims to tackle extreme climatic conditions across India. Voltas has provided airconditioning solutions for the world’s biggest ocean liner, RMS Queen Mary 2. It has also provided cooling solution to the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa. With its large network, Voltas has its own service centres in every major city. In 1954, Voltas became the first company in India to manufacture an indigenous air-conditioner. It was also the first to launch the split AC in 1982.

Based in Mumbai, India, Voltas Limited is a part of the TATA group. According to a 2013 estimate, AC sales in India stand at about 3.4 million every year. Of these, 80 per cent are in the split AC segment of which Voltas has emerged as a leader.

In 2014, Voltas was ranked 39th among India’s most trusted brands in the Brand Trust Report, a study conducted by Trust Research Advisory. At the same time, Voltas was also awarded the Ministry of Power’s ‘National Energy Conservation Award’ in the AC category, in recognition of its promotion and sales of energyefficient appliances. It makes equipment for various industries in areas such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, construction equipment, materials handling, water management, building management systems and indoor air quality.

Apart from making equipments, Voltas’ vast business portfolio also includes textile industry as well as mining and construction equipment division. Voltas also offers integrated services and spare parts logistics. Voltas’ electromechanical projects have successfully been making a mark on the modern Indian landscape.

It has been providing electrical and mechanical solutions in various industries, from infrastructure to service sector, including airports, power and metals, malls, hospitals, hotels etc. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad), Chennai International Airport, Godrej Waterside IT Park (Kolkata), IMTMA (Bangalore), Tata Consultancy Services (Chennai, Bhubaneshwar and Thiruvananthapuram), Lodha Excellus (Mumbai), RMZ Millennia Business Park (Chennai), Fortis Hospital (New Delhi) and Waverock (Hyderabad) are some of its esteemed projects.

Voltas has entered into an alliance with some of the global players in various fields including MIDEA (China) for Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems and Ruks Engineering (Canada) for Ozone Engineered Systems.
