Geetanjali Olympiad School was established in 2000 with a mission to inculcate positive attitude and strong moral and ethical values in its students.
Aiming towards the holistic development of its students, its programmes are a generous mix of basic curriculum supported by a well-planned examination schedule. The school follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus. Regular CDF (Concepts, Definitions and Functions) tests are held along with weekly IIT model tests in mathematics, physics and chemistry.
Various other activities and projects help students assess their performance in different fields. Its pre-primary wing follows no homework, no bags and no examination policy. The student’s growth is determined on the basis of periodical assignments which are given to them. Its senior wing has a study-activity ratio of 80:20.
To improve its students’ creative writing capacity, a general topic is given to them on weekends. They are expected to write around 15 to 20 lines on the same and submit them on the next school day. Their home work policy ensures that each student spends at least an hour or two every day, practising reading and writing.
There are two main parameters in Geetanjali’s admission selection process. Initially, the appropriateness of the student’s age vis-a-vis the class he/she has applied for is checked. Once that’s done, an entrance test is taken on the basis of the school’s policies.
For admission up to pre-primary II, no formal written assessment is done. Beyond that till the fifth grade, applicants need to sit for a basic test of English, mathematics and science. A logical reasoning test is added to this for those applying from the sixth to the eighth grade.
The school has a 1:15 teacher to student ratio. Regular teacher training workshops on performance development, spoken English and subject orientation are conducted.
Residential facilities are provided to students who are in their third standard and above. The school has a huge auditorium, on-call doctor facility, a swimming pool, a skating rink, a cricket practice area, basketball and tennis courts, laboratories for computers, physics, chemistry, mathematics and English, and a dining hall along with a kitchen.
