G S V Prasad is currently the Executive Director – Retail of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., a Govt. of India Enterprise with a Gross sales of Rs 244 thousand crores and PAT of Rs 6357 cr. (2017-18). HPCL is also a Fortune 500, Forbes 2000, Platts 250 and Navratna company.
Executive Director-Retail is the head of Retail SBU, which is the most prominent business unit of HPCL accounting for nearly 66% of the company’s turnover. The Retail SBU also enjoys the greatest amount of visibility through the 15,357 strong retail fuel station network spread across the length and breadth of the country. MS and HSD, the major products retailed by the SBU, account for the bulk of the business at about 23.8 MMT (2017-18). Other products include SKO, CNG, Auto LPG etc.

Shri G S V Prasad is the brain behind many new initiatives of Retail SBU, be it conceptualizing and launching poWer 99, India’s highest Octane rated petrol or piloting “Talk to Us”, an Artificial Intelligence based Customer feedback system or shifting the customers from traditional card based platform to hugely successful card-less platform or launching QR code based mobile application for retail customers, which is the 1st in the oil industry.
Retail SBU has been registering outstanding performance under the leadership of Shri G S V Prasad by gaining market share during 2016-17 and 2017-18 and is again poised to register another outstanding performance during 2018-19.
This performance has been achieved due to Shri G S V Prasad’s emphasis on building strong customer loyalty HPCL’s brands through unrelenting focus on customer centric initiatives, strengthening of network capabilities and deployment of information technology for automation of key processes.

Shri Prasad is a qualified engineer with a BE in Mechanical Engineering. He has worked across the length and breadth of India during his career spanning three decades in HPCL. Mumbai, Kolkata, Vizag, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Pune, Rajkot, Madurai, to name few, are the locations where Shri Prasad has worked.
Though GSV Prasad’s mother tongue is Telugu, he speaks many languages like Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Hindi and English.
Building the team with empathy, leading the team by example, involving the team in making critical decision making and inspiring the team to achieve the unachievable are some aspects of his leadership. He also loves to mentor the younger generation.
He enjoys reading during his free time, with a special liking for Telugu literary works.
Honesty, dedication, commitment, hard work and positive attitude are some values he cherishes the most.
