MORE THAN JUST A PIPE

Finolex Pipes has been the largest PVC pipe manufacturer in India for more than three decades. It is considered as a benchmark in quality in all its products. Despite competition from more than 500 players in the organised and unorganised sector, it has retained its number one position in the country.

Finolex PVC pipes and fittings are available in a vast range (sizes, pressure classes and diameters) for diverse applications in agriculture, housing, telecom, construction and industries. It enjoys the leadership position and sells through a network of more than 15,000 direct and indirect retail outlets spread across India. It means that Finolex PVC pipes and fittings are easily available anywhere in India.

Its pipes and fittings plants in Pune, Ratnagiri and Vadodara have ultramodern manufacturing facilities. FIL is the first Indian PVC pipe manufacturer to be awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certification. The plant manufacturing the PVC has been set up in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, in technical collaboration with Udhe GmbH, Germany, and under technology license from Hoechst technology. In 2002, both PVC pipes and PVC resin plants at Ratnagiri were awarded the IS14001 certificate for Environment Management Systems. In 2006 PVC Resin capacity was expanded from 130,000 MT to 260,000 MT.

As part of its endeavour to keep the environment and water bodies around its plants at Ratnagiri free from pollutants, Finolex has successfully achieved its goal for zero discharge. This has been achieved by recycling it back into the system. The treated water can be used for irrigation. Trees and plants within the premises have benefitted from this process. The PVC undergoes various treatments in the company’s world class effluent treatment plants. These treatments include equalisation, flocculation, floc separation, aeration activated sludge process and polishing using activated carbon filter etc.

In recognition of its exceptional performance, Finolex Industries Ltd has received various awards and has set its own benchmark in excellence. The list of security awards includes 1st prize from National Safety Council for Lowest Accident Frequency Rate under Chemicals & Fertilizers Industry, ‘Certificate of Merit’ from National Safety Council for Meritorious Performance in Industrial Safety in 2002 and ‘Prashansa Patra’ from National Safety Council of India for developing and implementing the most effective management systems and procedures. The company has also bagged many awards in environment and energy conservation areas as well.

Finolex Industries Ltd actively contributes to the social and economic development of the communities in and around their manufacturing plants. Finolex and Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF), a charitable trust, have partnered in this journey for many years. The company has been actively contributing in education by giving scholarships/assistance, healthcare in collaboration with hospitals and medical camps for children, community development and other cultural activities.
