Emirates College of Technology

The Emirates College of Technology (ECT) was established in 1993 to provide quality business and tertiary technical education in the GCC region. It is the first private institute to be licensed and accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Its campuses are located in the heart of Abu Dhabi.

Started as the Emirates Institute of Technology, its academic section was renamed Emirates College of Technology in 2004.

The institute’s campus on Hamdan Street hosts male students and the main administrative offices while that in Al-Nahyan district on Defense Road is for female students.

ECT offers diplomas in business administration and computer information systems, accounting, banking & finance, computer graphic design & animation, human resource management, mass communication & public relations, and degrees in business information technology, human resource management and management.

ECT seeks to provide teaching, research and community services that equal international best practices with focus on knowledge-based economy. It invests in people and technology. ECT’s faculty hails from 15 countries across the globe and is recognised for its contributions to the field of education.

Students are given freedom to adjust their schedules round the curriculum. They are free to opt from weekend, weekdays, morning and evening classes. Also, the curricula is structured so as to make it possible for the graduates to continue their higher studies in bachelor programmes in other local, Arab or western universities. ECT is in academic partnerships with Abu Dhabi University; Griffith College, Ireland; Hamdan Bin Mohammed University, UAE; University of Jazeera, UAE; Hashemite University, Jordan; University of Wollongong, Dubai and Al Ain University of Science and Technology, UAE, among others.

Working around the principles of academic integrity, teamwork, performance recognition, accountability, effective communication, leadership and appreciating diversity, ECT has established itself as one of the oldest and most sought-after institutions in the region.
