Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), is the second largest car manufacturer in India and the largest passenger car exporter. It currently has 10 car models across segments – Eon, Santro, i10, Grand i10, i20, Xcent, Verna, Elantra, Sonata and Santa Fe. BLAZE TO BRILLIANCE
HMIL forms the major chunk of HMC’s global exports, with supplies to around 85 countries across Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia and the Asia Pacific. HMIL began exporting cars in 1999 when it exported a batch of 20 Santros to Nepal and it reached the first milestone of exporting 100,000 cars in four years and 10 months in October 2004. In October 2005, it exported its 200,000th car followed by its 300,000th and 400,000th car in October 2006 and August 2007 respectively. By exporting the millionth car in February 2010, HMIL became the ‘fastest’ Indian passenger car manufacturer to achieve this stupendous milestone in a record time.

To support its growth and expansion plans, HMIL currently has a 388-strong dealer network and more than 1000 service points across India which will see further expansion. HMIL also operates its own dealerships known as Hyundai Motor Plazas in large metros across India. HMIL has the second largest sales and service network in India.
ENGAGEMENT THAT ENTHRALS
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) was formed in the year 2006 with the purpose of giving back to society and to initiate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). HMIF, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, organises the ‘Happy Move Global Youth Volunteers camp’. As part of the initiative, students from India and Korea are work together towards a common cause of community development. The activities in the camp are focussed on education and renovation activities.
