In conversation with Saket Jain, Business Head, Fenesta Building Systems

Years of working in the industry, your contribution reflects versatility and volubility. What has influenced your decision making process at various stage?

Decision making for me has always been a balance of emotion and Logic. Logic is always a systematic process with clearly defined elements based on data and the expected outcomes. Consideration to the values of the organization & impact of the decisions on various stakeholders are also important factors which influence my decision making.

A project or an accomplishment that you consider to be the most significant in your career?

Getting into the shoes of a Business Head from a Functional Head has been the most significant event in my career. As Functional Head, I was already looking into various critical areas, however, as Business Head I had to take a more people centric approach in which there has been lot of learning & the learning continues.

How do you integrate corporate philanthropy or corporate social responsibility as a part of your business strategies?

Responsibility towards society and nature is a must for any human. It is a symbiotic relationship and should be respected and handled with utmost respect and care. We as a corporate have an equal priority to business goals with Environment, Health and Safety in mind.

What has been your driving force or philosophy in life?

Work smart with full integrity ….. results will follow.

How do you define success and how do you measure up to your own definition?

Success is mythical. For me staying true to my values & having peace of mind is success.

We are constantly making things better, faster, smarter or less expensive. In other words, we strive to do more with less. Tell me about a recent project or solution to a problem that you have made better, faster, smarter or less expensive?

I believe that every individual has inherent desire to work towards his/her own personal development and therefore, regular guidance on personal development will catapult individual’s development journey.  Taking this into consideration, we recently initiated a programme where in the Leaders in the organization connect with their team members on a monthly basis to provide guidance with regard to development.

In your opinion what is the most significant aspect of leadership?

Be authentic & lead by example are the most significant aspect of leadership.

Your perception of an empowered society. How far your industry has/ can contribute for the same?

I feel that empowered society is one wherein one can ensure health, education and employment for everyone. I am happy to share that Fenesta as an organization continues to make efforts in all these three fronts on a sustainable basis.
