JBCN International school was established in the year 2010 by Pinky Dalal, integrating the best of national and international curricula and pedagogy to create responsible, global citizens through a holistic ‘Mind Body Soul’ programme. Her fellow trustees – Fatema Agarkar, Kunal Dalal and Hemali Dalal – have enhanced the school’s vision by bringing in international school management practices and cuttingedge educational perspectives to the school programme.
Learning is experiential and interdisciplinary, caters to multiple intelligences and individual learning styles, ensuring a real-world connect that makes learning meaningful. Children are encouraged to apply higher order thinking skills, to go beyond ‘information gathering’ to application, analysis and creation. The co-curricular programme is central to JBCN’s vision, offering a wide range of sports and creative pursuits as part of a child’s daily school hours programme. Each co-curricular, whether it is chess, swimming, music or theatre arts, has been picked to plays a crucial role in every child’s physical, cognitive and creative development, and hence is compulsory for all at each grade level. Global exposure is provided through international sporting and educational trips which provide the required international perspectives.
JBCN’s infrastructure too supports the high standards of its academic and co-curricular benchmarks, with smart boards installed in class rooms, interactive Language Labs, a multi-faceted Language Enrichment Programme led by the Learner Resource Centre, a multi-functional astro turf and indoor swimming pool, Music Rooms, Creativity Centre, Performing Arts Centre, Information & Technology Centre and a Discovery Centre for Science and Math inquiry.
This entire gamut of learning experiences truly provides each and every student with the opportunity to ‘be the best that we can be’, as the School Song reiterates.
